About the artist...

My name is Sharon Rooney and I'm delighted to introduce myself as ShariArt Portraits... Born in Glasgow, I studied at the Scottish College of Textiles graduating in 2000 with a Honours degree in Textile Design as a print specialist. Inspired by advances in technology and graphic design possibilities, I then moved into digital print and have worked as a graphic designer for the past 10 years.

Art & Design have always been my passion and I enjoy a range of creative hobbies, including interior design, antique restoration and meditation. However, by far, my preferred subject is portraiture. My love of meeting new people in everyday life is my inspiration - looking to capture a person's character as well as their unique features.

Having lived in both London and York, I have now settled back in Glasgow and am enjoying devoting more time to developing as an artist.

With a philosophy of offering eye-catching 'art with a heart', I believe that modern art should be available to everyone and that we should all have the opportunity to own something unique, that is not mass-produced and has that personal touch.
